#everything.
With your generous support, an expecting mother will have easy and convenient access to me via text/call/email through six weeks postpartum–for consistent support. Links to literary and human resource, evidence-based research, encouraging affirmations, and offerings of sage wisdom abound.
Mother of Ease Community
is a private and purposeful body designed to elevate excellent care for Black women as they journey along the childbearing continuum in modern America. It serves as a sanctuary where members source culturally-resonant guidance, education, and easeful connection while navigating the seasons of trying to conceive (TTC), pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and early motherhood (with a child to age three).
She'll gain complimentary access to MOE Community.
Prenatal Preparation
We’ll share monthly doula prenatal appointments together. The topic(s) of our gatherings will vary and be tailored based on specific desires and needs. Her intimate partner is always welcomed and encouraged at these appointments.
I will also accompany her to one primary care provider appointment. It’s important to me that her care providers are aware of one another, and working in community to best support her.
Birth
Preferences
Commonly referred to as The Birth Plan - this Birth Preferences document will help preface her birthing experience with her hopes in mind. We'll talk about what's most important to her, what her options are, and I'll design a smart one-page PDF for her Primary Care Provider(s).
Birth Support
When she's ready for my presence, I'll connect with her to provide unlimited labor + birth support virtually or in-person at her home, birthing center, and/or hospital of choice and/or need.
Early postpartum nurturing
After birth, I will remain with her over the next hour as she's settling in with her new love. If everyone is well and she's decided to breastfeed—I'll encourage the space for her golden hour.
With flexibility in mind, and sometime within her first week postpartum and home, I'll check in with good eats and good words to see how feedings and feelings are going. If she's breastfeeding, I can assess her latch and give clinical counsel as a Certified Lactation Counselor®.
We’ll have another visit where I’ll hold space & listen to her birth experience and/or postpartum realities. I’ll continue checking in on on her over her first six weeks postpartum, encouraging healthy integration into this new, beautiful life.
